Ashtray Unleashes His Most Ambitious Album Yet: Kill Me Slowly

Ashtray is back and this time he’s going all in. His latest album, Kill Me Slowly, isn’t just another release but a defining moment in his artistic journey. With raw storytelling, boundary pushing production, and an unfiltered look into his struggles and ambitions, this project is set to leave a lasting impact.

Inspiration & Themes

For Kill Me Slowly, Ashtray takes a deep dive into his own life crafting a narrative that blends personal experiences with music that hits on a different level. More than just an album, it’s a long-overdue step toward the creative heights he’s always aimed for.

Breaking Boundaries

This project marks a major shift in Ashtray’s sound. He’s pushed himself beyond his comfort zone, exploring new styles and techniques to create something truly versatile. While he respects artists who stick to their signature sound, for him, evolution is key.

“I believe that as an artist, you have a duty to push the limits and try as many new things as possible,” he says. “But always stay 100% you.”

The Creative Process & Challenges

The journey to Kill Me Slowly wasn’t easy. Over the past 9–10 months Ashtray barely slept grinding day and night to make an album that people could feel in their souls.

But the road was far from smooth. The album was delayed five times with four complete versions scrapped before he finally landed on the sound he wanted. Every track on the final version was made in just the last two weeks leading up to the release.

Collaborations & Influences

With only one feature by Bandanna$aint who he connected with via Instagram. This album is mostly a solo effort. The deluxe edition dropping Friday will include a feature from Jace and four additional solo tracks.

Ashtray’s production team includes himself and the talented producer “uhhh,” alongside a select group of collaborators. Sonically he draws inspiration from heavyweights like Ken Carson, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Icytwat, Lucki, Southsidesilhouette, and Yeat.

The Sound of Kill Me Slowly

Expect chaos. Expect energy. Expect a rollercoaster of emotions. Kill Me Slowly blends hyperactive, high-energy tracks with darker, more dissonant sounds that pull listeners into Ashtray’s world.

“I like to make my projects run you through a rollercoaster of emotions,” he explains. “And to anybody doubting me, just wait until you see these songs live.”

Personal Connection

Out of all the tracks, Surrender holds the deepest meaning for Ashtray. The song explores his struggles with addiction, both to music and substances, as well as the weight of mortality.

“The thought of being able to do enough in these short lives we live to make a difference in this world is all I ever want,” he shares.

Impact & Audience

Ashtray isn’t concerned with numbers, his goal is to make music that resonates, whether it’s with one person or a million. He hopes listeners connect emotionally, finding their own meaning within the music.

What’s Next?

The deluxe edition of Kill Me Slowly drops Friday, March 7th, featuring new tracks and a guest appearance from Jace. But that’s just the beginning, Ashtray already has multiple projects in the works including his next album SKYLINE.

To his fans, he says:

“From the bottom of my heart, you guys have changed my life, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
